Why Add Enzymes To Your Pool Chemicals?
December 27, 2013

The combination of chlorine + enzymes is the Dynamic Duo. Working together the enzymes act as a catalyst to remove the organic material in the water, this allows the chlorine to kill the bacteria. The net effect is sparkling, safer water for your guests. When working with commercial pool and spa operators, it’s fun to see the results. This is especially rewarding when the positive reports from the pool and spa users and the staff’s comments on reduced maintenance. You can apply the enzymes by hand or with an automatic peristaltic pump system.
Pros and Cons to both systems:
Manual: Minimal training and low start-up costs. The pool operator fills a bucket with pool water and mixes in the designated amount of the non-hazardous liquid. The mixture is then drizzled around the edges of the pool or spa on a weekly basis.
Peristaltic Pump: The reliable programmable pumps are like your home thermostat; you set it and forget it. They meter the delivery of enzymes into the water based on historical and/or sporadic bather load.
